Valeria is from El Salvador. She has been involved in youth educational programs about human rights. With the Museum of the Word and Image, Valeria and a group of young Salvadorans created the project Generational Successions in Human Rights Education with the objective that young people get to be in charge of teaching other young people about Human Rights and Historical Memory. In 2017 their project won the Óscar Arnulfo Romero Ibero-American Prize for Human Rights Education. In the future she wants to create a Salvadoran National Human Rights Defenders Network to keep weaving El Salvador's memory for young people to take the lead in building a more just and equitable country.
