Sélim Benzeghia

Selim Benzeghia, a Franco-Algerian director and producer, is the co-founder of Stake Films, an organization dedicated to harnessing the power of cinema and impact campaigns to foster social change and influence policy. His documentary, "A Slide and Barbed Wire," which aired on French National Television, marked a significant milestone in his career. Following its release, he partnered with UNICEF on an impactful campaign that resulted in parliamentary screenings and ultimately contributed to the prohibition of detaining migrant children in France. Currently, with the support of the Rogovy Foundation and the Redford Center, Selim is engaged in several noteworthy projects, including a series that examines racist crimes in France during 1973 and directing "Green Gold," a documentary that investigates the socio-environmental repercussions of avocado farming in Mexico. His dedication to civic engagement has not gone unnoticed; Selim was honored with an award from the Institut de l’Engagement in recognition of his contributions.
