Mbalenhle Memela

She is a 27-year-old woman from Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal. A proud alumna of the University of Pretoria, she holds a master's degree in African Languages. Her passion lies in the preservation and development of the isiZulu language, as well as in promoting inclusive education. Her professional experience includes serving as an isiZulu educator at Uistig High School, where she played a vital role in phasing in the isiZulu language curriculum. Additionally, she has worked as a Learning Designer, creating educational isiZulu content for UCT Online High School. At Verisity College, she lectured in both isiZulu and mathematics. Currently, she is an isiZulu education specialist at Optimi. Looking ahead, she intends to pursue a PhD, focusing on the integration of technology in the isiZulu language and exploring how this can contribute to its development.
