DOCTOR

Changemaker: Gayane Sargsyan

Country of Implementation: Armenia

People with disabilities in Armenia face big challenges in their daily lives and the scarcity of rehabilitation centres in the country makes it more acute. There is currently only one proper rehabilitation centre for 205,166 registered people which cannot serve all of them. That's why Gayane, a GCM from Armenia and her friends from Yerevan State Medical University decided to organise rehabilitation skills trainings for the paramedics and non medical people working/living with people with disabilities from 5 regions of Armenia. DOCTOR plans to train 150 people to allow them to get the skills necessary to help patients improve their physical abilities, which will allow them to have a better quality of life.
