Children in Callao, Ventanilla, and other areas of extreme poverty in Lima, Peru, face limited opportunities to access quality educational resources, exacerbating the education gap.
Proyecto Suyay will launch the Mobile Community Libraries initiative to provide children with access to educational resources and academic development activities directly in their communities to change this reality. This project will be implemented in several vulnerable communities in Lima, using vehicles equipped to transport books, educational materials, and tools for workshops taught by more than 400 volunteers.
The project will begin in November 2024 and engage children and youth in activities designed to enhance their learning and personal development. Workshops will include group readings, art activities, and educational games, all aimed at fostering a love of learning and the development of social and emotional skills. The project will benefit more than 500 children in different communities in Lima.
